for most of you, a volunteering holiday will be a completely new experience. That’s why we, as an experienced tour operator, make every effort to ensure that your holiday runs as smoothly and is as safe as possible. All of the questions you may have are questions that we have asked ourselves. All of the challenges you may face were once faced by us. For us, being in close contact with you is therefore essential.

Safety first!

But what if …? Don’t worry – this is a question we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about.

When selecting our projects, safety is one of the most important criteria. That’s why we offer every volunteer a personal service and make sure that any outstanding safety issues are resolved before departure.

Our promise

To ensure your safety throughout your holiday, for each of our projects we have at least one experienced partner on the ground, who briefs our volunteers in person on arrival and looks after them throughout their visit. After many years of personal experience, we know that our partners are extremely reliable and are always there to offer advice and support as needed. They will, for example, explain any rules of conduct for getting by in a strange culture, and give you all the essential inside information you need for your day-to-day work or for your safety in dealing with wild animals.

There is also a 24-hour emergency hotline should you have any unanswered questions or should a problem arise.

Insurance

Despite our safety precautions, for complete protection we consider suitable travel insurance to be essential. We are therefore proud to work with HanseMerkur. HanseMerkur offers travels insurance which covers you if you cancel before leaving home, if you have to return home early or if you need medical help abroad. It has received a number of awards for its travel insurance. A lot of our volunteers have purchased their travel insurance from HanseMerkur, and they have always been completely satisfied.

As a tour operator, we also of course have statutory insolvency insurance. This means that any money you pay to us is safe in the event of insolvency.
