South Africa

A country with a lot more to offer than the Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope, the Kruger National Park and its array of small and large wild animals, South Africa is like nowhere else in the world. With an eventful history that no other country has had to face,  the traces and effects of apartheid can be felt to this day.

South Africa is changing. Townships are evolving and jobs are being created. Despite this, without help, it’s difficult for the country to build the foundations for a better future. In many regions, volunteers are indispensable when working in volunteer projects together with people who are often living on the margins of society.

As well as community projects, South Africa’s wildlife projects are also in need of support. Animals from captivity, cubs rescued from unethical breeding programmes and injured wild animals all have to be taken care of, nursed and socialised.

Take a look at our range of voluneer projects in South Africa and become #travelgrower today.

Swaziland

According to the Human Development Index, Swaziland is one of the least developed countries in the world. The de facto monarchy is a landlocked country, bordering South Africa and Mozambique. The country has major healthcare problems, with the HIV rate in 2015 at around 35%. Life expectancy averages 51 years, making it one of the lowest in the world.

In Swaziland, we have several projects that specifically focus on social issues. Education and medical care are the main problems the country needs help with. Our recent visits to our projects have shown us that the help volunteers provide is truly appreciated. In particular, the children helped by our projects are keen to learn, educate themselves and be supported. Their joy and energy is truly unique.

Thailand

Southeast Asia has been a popular backpacker destination for years. Travellers from all over the world are particularly enthusiastic about Thailand, as the country offers the ideal conditions to experience adventures outside the tourist routes and opportunities to get in touch with the country, culture and people.

We work with projects that are working on some of the most important issues in the country. The project localities offer a real chance to become immersed in Thai culture too, particularly the lesser known regions in the north of the country.

You will love the warmth of Thailand.
